Interest thread-Team Sahlen Car Show and Shop Tour

ST cars use headlights too. A lot of flash to pass and sometimes they run with them.

Just wanted to put this out there for you guys who track your cars or auto-x. Jay has a number of used sets of 225/45/17 tires that he wants to get rid of. They are Continental tires that they use in the series, he is charging $100 for the set. So if you are interested, let me know and we can arrange pick up times. Also, Sahlen will be testing their cars this Friday @ Mid-Ohio @ 2:30PM, come out and see the cars run, I think they'll have all 4 cars at the track!

interested in a set, wish i could go to the practice but i'll be in class

I'll probably pick up a set. Simply because they are a great deal and I would love to try a Hyperdrive on legit racing tires. Can you save me a set, Marlon? I've got cash and can pick them up anytime after 4:30 after work.

edit- Nate, if you like, I can snag a set for you and store them in the basement. Just throwing that out there for ya since I live only 20mins from the shop.

that would be awesome, I can pick them up at the fun run. LMS taken care of customers!

I dunno, I think 225's would be pretty stuffed on to a 7" rim.. =/ Otherwise that would be pretty awesome, and that's crazy price. I don't think I actually have enough clearance, I normally have 215/40's and it's pretty close to the fender in the rear.

Just to let you know, I run 205/40-17's when I'm on the track and they even rub the struts and the lip both on the back of the P5. I also have about -2 degrees chamber in the rear. So I don't know how you plan on getting the 225/45-17's to work. Just remember that true track tires have a much more square shoulder than regular tires. Just some food for thought. If you get them and find a way to make them work let me know, I would love to see your setup.

i have 215/45/17 on right now, i was gonna gow with a 7.5 or 8 inch with a 45 offset wheel and roll the fenders. The msp tockico blues sit a little higher in the rear

I'll let Jay know on Friday. Now, I may have to buy another set of wheels for Lauri to use for her HPDE classes.......never ends

You know while you're at it, you can just buy me new wheels and you can have mine :D

I need lightweight wheels ya know! Also, the 225/45/17's don't look stuffed, I have Kumho V710's on my Kosei's and ran them @ Mid-Ohio in July and August.

I guess I should research more about the tires and my Enkeis before buying them. My Enkei's are 17x7 and a +45 offset. I'm currently running 215/40-17 with rolled fenders and don't have any rubbing. Do you think I could run Sahlens used slicks, Marlon?

I think your safe, We'll do a test with the Kuhmo's and the Kosei's.
