intake...

well guys i have the injen cold air intake on my car right now..but im not a big fan of them when it comes to wet weather.....so im lookin into buyin the perinn short ram. What do u guys think is that a good idea...i have a fmic also ....some people told me that it will make it slower because of the heat but ddoes it really make that much of a diffrence?

FWIW, you can convert your injen to a short ram without spending the extra $$ for a perrin. Just attatch the filter to the MAF. Then you can decide for yourself.

if you do some searching you will find that you can
1) turn your injen cai into an sri, which lots of people like to avoid the water possibility and to get the sri faster throttle response
2) find that the hotter temps arent that big a deal because of the faster throttle response making up for the heat.

i would recommend making the cai into an sri with a heatshield on it. it wont cost much if anything and likely is the best option.

yea i read that i can remove the one section...but that second section after the maf has some kind of sensor on it what would i do with that?

punch a hole in it with something sharp and then make a big enough hole.

I used a Ginzu knife lol.

LOL (werd) Used a big ass screw driver...much better converted to SRI...
also its no longer a pain in the ass to clean the filter...

i just have my IAT sensor hanging right underneath the filter. I mean, the difference between ambient and when it actually enters the filter is virtually nil.
