get an sri/cai, you will see massive power gains

if not, open the box and remove the baffles, or just take the bottom half of the box off alltogether

There is an intake silencer....It's the peice of crap airbox that comes with the car, lol. I never heard any sounds until I put my SRI in. After that it's been love ever since.

heh, cai/SRI doesnt give MASSIVE power gains... but it gives some moderate gains.
most notable will be the sound.

If you are waiting for an intake to install, you can do two things... gut the stock air box AND remove the stock intake resonator (large plastic box under the air box). That or just wait to do the CAI/SRI install... and if ur BPV is still stock it'll remain a quieter than an aftermarket one...

i saw 17hp 22 tq. compared to other cars (1-5hp) that is a massive gain

The MS6 box is not the same as the MS3, the MS3 has no resonator below it. Best option is to remove the lower portion of the box, mount the filter to the top panel some how OR just be patient and do it properly with an intake.

Sorry to disagree. Well, I don't know how to define massive versus moderate. But to be accurate the gains are SUBSTANTIAL. How is that?

Check here for what the MSCAI does to this engine (none of the gain came from the CBE change):

The article even has links to their dyno runs.

I think gains in the 20-30 hp/torque range are SUBSTANTIAL. I don't know of any other single mod that can be made without major installation issues that can produce the same gains for the dollar than getting rid of the restriction in the stock box one way or another. I won't re-enter the CAI v. SRI debate. There are good reasons for either choice and each has its plusses and minuses. Both produce, oh did I already use that word, SUBSTANTIAL gains.

And as to the sound of the stock BPV. Before going out an buying an aftermarket valve, do the intake mod first - CAI or SRI and listen. The sound of the stock BPV will also be . . . . SUBSTANTIAL. You can't help but notice it. Yes you can go louder with an aftermarket valve, but wait and see if the stocker gets you what you are looking for, IMHO.

^ I agree. When I just had the SRI installed I could clearly hear the stocker bpv. I still decided to get an upgraded one but really just for aesthetic value. It looks so perdy in the engine bay, and if I wanted to run it VTA and really make some noise.
