Intake Manifold Design

hm, so the fs-ze ended up not being worth it in the other thread about that IM?

I only ask cause there is an entire fs-ze engine on ebay for 450plus shipping, then you get everything, IM, jspec cams, and an extra head and bottom end to play with.
Here we go...

If you have the cams, the FS-ZE manifold is worth while becuase they work as a matched set up. Not very aggresive, but they still offer a nice gain.

I'm gonna chime in here----

Today I had some extra time so I pulled the intake manifold off of my spare motor (came out of a '02 P5).
When I started looking at it I couldn't help but laugh, so I went to my MSP and checked, sure enough the MSP has the same set-up. Those shutter valves at the end of the intake manifold block over 23% (after quick cal.) of the port opening to the head. And then to top it off the difference between the intake manifold port to the head port is HUGE. The head ports dwarf those small intake ports. There is a HUGE amount of power to be made with alittle time and a dremel.

I split the intake manifold and looked at the vics......I can't see improving the setup too much without making another lower half of the intake manifold, so I think I'm gonna leave that portion alone.

I already removed the other shutter valves and jb welded the holes, lined the gaskets for gasket matching the intake manifold, and also made plans for a porting the throttlebody bore...(already ported the throttlebody a few months ago.)

I stumbled on this thread looking for info. on modifing the vics system, but it sounds like no one has really done it yet, and had conclusive results.

Just thought I'd throw out my plans for the intake manifold.
