Insurance?

Hey guys. Im hopefully going to be getting a MSP soon, and was wondering how much you think auto insurance will be for an 18 year old male? Expensive probably huh? I'm already paying $1800 a year for a 97 Ford Probe GT

Mine is a little over 3k a year I think for full coverage...I am an 18 year old male. I do not have a blemish free record though..a few speeding tickets, and one accident (in a different car, but still most likely only my record, it was 2 years ago).

Did you have full coverage on your Probe? If not, be prepared to pay a lot more, unless you are paying cash for the car and not financing in any way, you need to get full coverage.

I've been told insurance is the same as protege sedan... I doubt it but maybe it's true...

Tell you insurnace comapny you only want to carry the states minium coverage and have high deductables. It saves a ton.

I didn't check where you were from, but I think that is only the case in Canada...it is just listed as a regular Protege. But mines listed as a MAZDASPEED, so the insurance is a lot higher than it would be on a regular Protege.

i had a 1997 Ford probe GTS full coverage and when i got my speed my insurance dropped from 310 to 260 a month.. should drop some...

my MSP was listed as a Protege ES, so i don't think it's that high..
