Insurance

Did you notice that the CX-7 is rated as a wagon instead or SUV. I believe the rate are lower for wagon then SUV.

Just wondering what everyone is paying for insurance.

me,

640 a year with AAA for basic full coverage.
Clean record with multi policy discount in southern CA.

$700-something a year with State Farm, with two vehicle, home owners, years-without-an-accident, and old fart discounts. Might go down, as they sent me a letter about the engine immobilizer, which should be a Cat 3 discount, too. A bit more than my '04 Santa Fe, but that was just TD Ugly to sit in the same garage as a Miata.

You guys are lucky to pay that little. I am paying about 2 grand a year. Have an RX-8 and CX-7, $500 deductable. But, I am carrying a large amount of coverage - $300000, $150000, $300000 - thru Travelers . Don't want no stinking lawsuits filed on me. Also, that covers family/me in the uninsured motorist situation.

Even though I don't have the car yet I was quoted by StateFarm for $2100/year in Los Angeles. That was quoted a few months ago and I turn 23 before the end of the year. This is under my father's policy, who's insured everything he's owned, from home to life, and yet they're grabbing me by the balls for that one speeding ticket 1.5 years ago. Hopefully, the rates ease up when I turn 23 or when I insure it when I actually get the car this summer. On top of that, I guess they're giving me a discount since I have a life insurance policy with them. Btw, that rate is with a $500 deductible and relatively high amounts of coverage. I inquired about the Rav4 v6 and it's about 20-30 more a month to insure. more reasons to go with the CX7

All-State

$415/6-months

$100k/300k/100k
$500 collision deductable
$0 comprehensive deductable

Wow, I am impressed with how much you guys have to pay. I am paying $550 per year with $1000 deduct. and 500k/250k limits. Under- and uninsured is also included. I have two other cars insured with them. So there is a multi-car & home owners discount. Without any discount, it would be $1250 for the Mazda.

I am insured with AAA's insurance called MCIA.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that I have a couple of speeding tickets within the last 2 years.

Insurance is a black art. My license is clear, my credit is good, I have no criminal record and as a general rule live more cleanly and carefully than ever and I STILL get bent over every time the insurance bill comes. Still the CX-7 is $300 less expensive than the 300C if traded for. That surprised me, but delighted me. Even with reduced coverage ('cuz it's paid for), my 2002 Protege is MORE than the CX to insure. Figure that one out!
