Well don't think it gets that much better when you are older. I'm 43, single, no tickets or accidents and pay $900 a year. With 27 years of licensed driving experience you'd think I'd get a break.
Wow.. I see people paying $100-200 per month.
I had State Farm insurance and they were charging me $2500 a year for only liability on a 92 Cougar that I had at the time.
Anyway, I got rid of that car and on to the P5.
I switched to NJ Manufactures. Now I pay $237 a month.
Keep in mind I have had
NO Speeding Tickets...
NO Accidents...
NO Points...
NOTHING...
I hear that when I turn 25 (i'm 23) that I can expect a pretty decent reduction in cost..
*Crossing my fingers*
I know that NJ is one of the worst states for car insurance but I keep feeling like I am getting rolled...
Sheesh, and you live in Toms River, not exactly a hotbed for theft and vandalism . Generally speaking though, you're (according to those smart insurance guys at least ) in the worst bracket--early 20s male. If you say, had a pair of funbags, I'm sure it would be significantly less (again, why I don't understand when 20yo young ladies regularly fly by me in their Celicas on the Turnpike).
As soon as I hit 25 my insurance did drop significantly (I'm 28 now), though, so just hang in there for a couple of years
