Installing test pipe/mid-pipe

I think I'm going to go ahead and get the corksport race pipe and then get the last resonator chopped off. the car sounds beast straight piped from the downpipe.

that is what mine is, straight pipes from the dp back. check the video i posted above if you havent seen it. its louder in person, a definate bogger!

You need to remember that the oem catback passes over the rear axle. You'll either need to cut it or drop the subframe to get it off of the car. This is why almost all of the aftermarket catbacks are 2 piece. If you want to be able to swap it out for dealer visits you better have access to a lift.

yeah, you have a point. ill have to think that part over a bit.

i see you are in florida, do you have a heads up one an OEM exhaust

here you go dude this is a good video right here:

at the beginning, the intro part with the background and red letters is about exactly how it sounds in real life. The rest of the video its crazy ass loud and doesnt represent it well. So how it sounds at the beginning is exactly what no resonators, mo muffler, and a testpipe sound like, so only 1 cat. Thats also exactly what his video is for, all 4 of those things removed. See if you like how it sounds at the beginning because thats about how loud it will be if you do it

ok, yeah i mos def want the stock muffler minus everything else. without everything at low rpms it sounds to close to a SRT4 to me. and its too loud

with the muffler it should have that very bold rex mix with slight evo sound. but much more thunderous than the rex

but i love how you hear the turbo spool at such low rpms

in the first two vids you posted 2nd vid. when you pass the camera and let of the gas as :06secs is the sound i love

thanks pimpin

I've been thinking of getting a CBE for Xmas. Shoot me an offer on the OEM stuff if you'd like, it might help me make up my mind.

Hey, is your exhaust 3"? it sounds crazy.

I just have the mazsaspeed exhaust 3" (that only has a 1 cat in the middle) with stock downpipe and midpipe and it sounds very nice.

I'm thinking to install the test pipe and maybe later on cut the cat in the exhaust.

Has anyone done that?

Thank you.

if you're installing a test pipe, you're already losing the 2nd cat. the only way to go fully catless is if you purchase an aftermarket downpipe (only TXS and CS) since cobb and cp-e have full downpipe and midpipe replacements for theirs.

Yes to all of your questions. It helps to have a long extension to get to the bolts where the down pipe meets the mid pipe, but it can be done without it.

Define "long" please? I have a 6" and a 3", add a deep socket and I've got about 12" of reach. Do I need more?
