Installing Headlights (Hyper White)

Ok my g/f finally got her mp3. She loves it. I have a few questions on installing things.

1. How do i change out the H4 bulbs. I took off the power connector, but cant get the original bulb out. Thanks

2. How do i change the fog lights. I am pretty sure they are H3 bulbs, but if anyone could help that would be great.

3. Lastly how do we tell the number of the car. Is there a number to call, or do we look up the vin number. Thanks

Thank all you guys for the help.

Mike

1: headlights: unplug, then pull on the rubber seal on the back of the lamp, it pops off and goes back on w/ ease. Then there is a swinging wire lock that you pop loose fr/ one side or the other. Take out the bulb, put the new one in. Then reverse the process.
2: not sure, haven't tried yet- though it is next on my list.
3: Call 1-800-222-5500 and tell them you want to know the production number of your MP3. Then provide them w/ the VIN.

Thanks hixtrix

I saw that rubber seal and was not sure if i should pull it off. I think i can do that. For the fogs i will give it a whirl. There is a service pannel on the bottom of the car and that should provide access. And about that number thanks.

yw- glad I could be of assistance. That's what this forum is all about- I'm really glad that I found it, just wish all MP3 owners knew about it...

She called that number and she is number 1460.

One of the later ones, thats pretty cool. too bad its not the 1500.

Thanks again

Ouch the fogs are harder to get to than i thought. We tried going from the bottom and couldent get in. We can see the lights, but i dont think there is any way that we can get them out. Ne way Thanks
Mike

You have to unscrew the bolts at the bottom of the fogs, then use some needle nose pliers to unclasp the little zip tie that holds the fog light wiring. Once the lamp is out of the bumper you'll need to take the housing apart to get to the bulb. I wish I had thought to take pictures when I did it, so people would have a pictures to guide them.

Aite, I've never changed fog lights on any car and I changed my fog lights. :D It wasn't that hard, but you do have to crawl under the car and work in a tiny space. You have to remove that main bolt from underneath and then from the front pull out the assembly, then unscrew the two holding the light together, replace the bulbs then reverse the process, someone on here wrote a very good description, but I don't remember who.

Yep, foglight bulbs are H3 and you do have to take the whole light out. You can't disconnect the wire cause it goes into the light. Well, I didn't disconnect the wire, you may can disconnect it somewhere else. If not then you have to take the foglight apart while it is still wired up, which can be a pain. I used a shorty screwdriver to get behind the light to the screws.

Just remember, don't touch the actual bulb with your fingers, it can cause the bulb to bust when you turn the light on.

Thanks guys for all your help. That is my project for tommorrow. So is there only 500 yellow ones. How can you tell the number on one of those. Thanks again
Mike
