Installing a CB Radio

I'm planning a xcountry road trip in may and I want to know how to go about installing a CB Radio and 400 watt power inverter that I bought. I have a basic understanding of electronics but I wanted to know exactly what I need to do the job. Also, how should I run power to them? Should they be connected to an empty fuse in the fuse box? Thanks for any help.

IMHO, any power inverter should be wired directly to the battery, with some sort of ignition on switch.

The CD can be wired to an ignition on fuse, like the radio: Something non essential so if it goes, you will not hurt anything else.
