Installer scratched it

Hey everyone, so I got a deck installed in my PR5 today. I noticed on the way home there is a 1" scratch over the deck on the silver dash panel . It is not too deep, but it is noticeable. I'm bummin', I just got this car a few months ago. Any suggestions on how I should approach a remedy with the installer? I would imagine a whole new silver kit would be some bucks, and it isn't really bad enough to replace..I suppose. It is a reputable installer, the best in town. I wasn't sure what to ask for. I was going to get an alarm through this place. Should I get them to knock off $ on that (how much) or not get side jobs involved with this current one? Suggestions suggestions? T/U Jusden

If you notice it ,then its bad enough to have then replace it . Take your concern back to the store ,tell them that you arn't happy with the scratches and you want the part replaced at their expense . Talk directly to the manager or owner ,and one more thing get the price on the part from the Mazda dealer before you go in the the stereo shop. Shops should carry insurance to cover stuff like this .

There is no excuse for them F-ing up and scratching your dash ever.
Tell them you want a new peice and have ready the part number and price from the dealership. Talk to the manager first, no one else. If they say wait for the installer call BS. They are the manager they make the calls.

if i were to get gauges installed at a shop and they break a needle what would they give me?? sorry for off topic

So, the installer is going to order a new Mazda stock dash part for me. No hassles, they were cool. I was expecting some fuss because it is a small/light scratch....but it was no problem. Thank you everyone for the advice, I had the part # and price in hand when I walked in.

Cool, thats a stereo shop you stick with!
Everybody Fs up but a shop that, with no drama, takes care of you is a shop you want doing your installs.

I agree that a shop yiou want to stick with ,The best part of it is they now know that you take pride in your car . They will be extra careful next time you take your car in. \
Personally I would try to get to know the installer better ,Have only him/her work on the car next time . Who knows you my even be able to watch the process and pick up tips for future use
This is how i started to get my knowledge about car audio .
