Installed Forge BPV and CEL

So I installed the BPV with the blue spring over the weekend and got a CEL today. I think the CEL popped up when I pushed it hard. So what gives?

Probably need to get the code read somewhere, does Autozone do that?

Only mods are Cobb SRI and the BPV.

Got it read today at the zone. Turns out it is a P0401 EGR insufficient flow detected.

Looks like the valve is bad or there is heavy carbon buildup. Anyhow plan to go to the dealer tomorrow. Still under warranty, so hope they will fix it.

I was at the dealership on Tuesday to get my oil changed and noticed my mileage falling rapidly after the visit. Don't know if it is just coincidental or if the mechanic bumped into something and might have damaged something.

Some of the main symptoms are lowering mileage, stalling at idle or rough idles........

Went to the dealer. Turns out my EGR valve had tons or carbon, so they replaced it and re-programmed the ecu.

Do they re-program the ecu just to clear the CEL or is there some other reason?

with their mazda specific scan tools they can just select "clear code" so they don't have to push the reset button on anything, or even disconnect the battery

im not sure what "reprogramming" they'd be doing. next time ask them to stoich out your AFRs instead of being pig-rich stock
