Installed CPE Engine Management Unit. Dyno graph inside.

I intend to. Josh has been affable, courteous, and never seems bothered with my 8 questions so far.

I've experienced fuel cut once in 3rd gear with my current set up. It feels like you're bogging and it takes forever for the tachometer to reach peak RPMs. If you let go of the pedal and give it a second to recooperate, you're fine. I'm probably just going to run the default map for the conservative tune that way I don't over do it especially on my stock clutch. I too live close to CPE and wouldn't mind taking a look around the shop to see how these guys perform their miracles. :)

Well, whether you intend to spend money with us or not, you're more then welcome to stop by!! We'd love to show you exactly how we're so different from our competition. (wiggle)

And if you have any questions/comments that you've been dying to get off of your chest, be sure to bring those too :D

This post right here has cemented my intention of buying from you guys. Awesome stuff. Customer service is paramount to me and you guys seem to have it in spades. Keep up the good work and expect a lump of cash from me as soon as i can scrape it together.

hey fellas, ive got my ems sitting here and a quick question i had is:
whats an ideal a/f ratio for our cars to be running?

K, so where did u guys mount the cp-e ems...and how?
it has no clips to mount or do anythign with
use double sided tape?, that'll never hold tho
any ideas?
thx

I mounted mine on the side wall inside of the battery box. The wall that faces away from the windsheild using double sided foam tape which will hold perfectly. Ran the harness underneath the the wall where there is a hole which is running the positive battery cable.

i mounted on the outside of the battery box for the time being, just wanted to get it installed and running
I LOVE it so far, just at the base 15psi, if i stomp the gas in 2nd i can break the tires loose, now for some tuning and dyno runs to see what im making
ill have some pics up 2morrow

not to tj or anything but what is the diff between cpe standback and the xede?
also what is the benefits for each unit, i live in hawaii and thinking of which ems to go with. only got 1 dyno here its 2 hours away from me and i have no idea if that guy is a good tuner or not. i have some knowledge of tuning since i still have my msp with a mpi tuner

Search for a member called Nutari; he is from your neck of the woods...though I don't know what island he is on...

Basically both systems are comparable from what I've read. None of them have PnP (plug n play) yet...though Xede states it will become available on 12/1/2007. There is a battle between both systems...

I am personally going with Xede since (hopefully) they will have PnP first...
And the Xede system has been out for a while...in Australia...

Read this lengthy thread: Who wants dibs on the XEDE PnP System?

yeah man. Give me a call and we can talk cars.

I have just about every mod possible for this car cept the bigger turbo.

I just finished putting in my front hotchkiss sway. damn that was a pain.

(yawn)

** Update 9 / 18 / 07 ** Well went and finished getting tuned today took about 2 hours as we were still messing with air fuel a little trying to smooth it out more towards the last hour of tuning.

I have 17 runs of maps today lol so if anyone wants some datalogs or dyno charts let me know! Joshj84@gmail.com

Just a little tidbit btw

I dynoed a month ago at 246HP and 316TQ I put the bypass on today and did a baseline dyno and did 266HP and forget the torque.. anyways TurboXS downpipe and race pipe added 20 horsepower.. just figured it was interesting ;)

Also did another dyno with bypass off after that and CPE Standback added 40HP after all tuning was done. Not bad for the price of an exhaust!

So I just installed it and everything was amazing. Instructions were above amazing and didn't take more than a couple hours. My only issue that I'm experiencing at the moment which I don't know why and I'll be calling Jordon to ask about this tomorrow. But While in 3rd gear if I shift early in 1st and 2nd then floor it in 3rd gear I experience I'm assuming fuel cut around 4k-4.5krpms. Never experienced fuel cut in this car before so not sure what it's like but the car literally lurches forward and definitely doesn't feel good... Anyones idea on if its fuel cut or something else would definitely be helpful. Again I'll be calling Jordon tomorrow to figure it out.. Also start sometimes seems to be difficult sometimes as in takes longer to start only a couple times so far.

All I have to say is the whole CPE team is awesome, I know its been said before but they are simply amazing. All my issues are fixed now that I had (due to elevation) which caused the car to run leaner than it should've. I'll include a few pics of the install and such don't mind me haven't shaved in a few days :P

Overall if your going to spend your money on any sort of product for your mazda go with CPE the quality and customer service is priceless compared to some of the other companies out there.

Definitely give CPE 10/10 on every scale.

This is an overlap from the same day the blue is very first run with bypass plug in. (so no engine mangement persay)

The red is after 17 dyno runs and finished product you can see the gains.

MODS - CPE Engine Management, ETS TMIC, HKS BOV, TurboXS Downpipe - race pipe, MS CAI and SU Engine mount.

hey i talked to Jorden he said you really don't benifit from going 19psi becuase the turbo is not effeciant and you can quickly ruin the turbo, he said you can get the same or more from 17 psi with a good tune. Just given you what heard from Jorden

Totally understandable considering how much heat it's going to create because it's working extra hard. I would just leave it at 17psi and tune the a/f ratios.

? Then Just A Thought! My Buddy Had A 1.8t Vw Wit A Ko4 And It Made 23 Psi All Day Long And Didnt Ruin It. It Was The Softwear It Had! Just Wondering Whats The Difference Its The Same Turbo!
