installed 3in apex dp

2003.5 Mazdaspeed Protege
today i finally installed the 3in apex dp thats been sitting in my garage for weeks. Just never got around to it i guess. it reallys opened up the exhaust. it gets really loud when the turbo is spooling. It pulls alot harder also. i have only driven about 40 miles on it so far. still no check engine light. i couldnt find the mil eliminator. its in my room somewhere. I get alot of rattling on that susp support under the dp tho. Anyone have this dp and do anything about this. I also have all four kartboy hangers. I was gonna try the washers before the support to lower it a bit maybe i'll be able to get rid of the rattling. we'll see around 1 tomorrow after work. well if anyone has any ideas to help me please give them to me. I'll try to get some sound waves up tomorrow. It sounds really mean tho. Very loud and very good sound not ricey at all. how did u get the 14.9 1/4 ? with just a CAI and stock boost ?
and where did u get that emblem from(turbo)
 
sweet man, i got mine installed today too, most people said it takes like 3 hours to do, i got it done in 1.5 hrs with all hand tools, sounds freakin awesome, mines a 3in also, have fun with it.
 
hey to get rid of the rattling, buy kartboy hangers.
for the downpipe hanger use the bottem and middle holes
for the muffler hangers use the top and bottem holes problem fixed

stock bost with controller tho at that time itwas a go fast bits atomic controller set at around 7 spike to like 8 settled at 7 the apexi n1 cat back injen cai 94 octane gas good cool temps and a good launch

never thought of that. awesome job thanks you all get some backfiring with the catless dp right. like if i go wot in first then shift to second i get some backfire. i guess its a sign of richness which never hurts in a turbo bc its safe i guess right? and turns some heads. llol

as for the emblem. search on ebay turbo emblem you'll find it. have you seen it on my car. its noticeable under the pics i uploaded in the appearance subforum under cf tails. i have gotten lots of compliments from it. alot of people knew its from a porsche too.
 
yeah i got some back fire... i wonder if a little fire ball comes out?

very nice tell me how its goes. some time this year im gonna get some type of engine management. tuning is where the power comes from. bolt ons are just the long road before the tuning comes. tuning is a must especially with all the boltons i need tuning badly
 
Boostin 15???? CRAZY!!! becareful dude... dont go blowing ur engine.
 
yea i will im using pfi (pfispeed.com) for my tuning the are a really good shop they had the world first 10 sec civic (bill) they have had 3 cars in magazines this year plus one of my good friends works for them so i hope i can get the hook up but tuning is still gonna be a s*** load of money think its either 60 an hour or 120 an hour but when i get my fuel going i hope to be running good times dont really need the fmic up here dosnt get to hot its like 50 out right now lol. but its the next mod along with forged internals.
 
if i blow a motor i will just buy another one plus io dont plan on it one dude ran 15-18 psi for a year before his 4th gave out i plan on having the forged internals before then
 
depends who you talk to about it but in my opinion yes we run a low compresion. plus the guys at pfi said ill be fine but i dont drive my engine hard only when i race which isnt that often. ill push our engine to its limits my warenty was gone a while ago i faced that fact
 
I gotcha, hmmm i thnk i might turn up the boost a bit, when i go to the track, hopefully i'll be in the mid to high 13's.
