install skunk2 coilover sleeves

hey guys just a quick question. . . i'm having trouble compressing the spring enough to get the top nut on the strut. . . any advice on how to compress the spring? i have spring compressors but the springs are so short that they don't really do much

set the coilovers so that they're at the bottom of their adjustment, that should make the entire assembly shorts, thereby allowing you to reassemble it.

cuz i was thinkin about getting these and i wasnt sure how people liked them or how they really work

I've hear bad things about the Skunk2's....

make sure the sleeves are set for the lowest setting.
They shouldn't be preloaded especially before you get the top sturt nut on...

My groundcontrols will take the top hat even if they're at the highest setting.

When you went to install them, did you knock the metal hat off of the strut body? when installing coilovers, you have to do that, otherwise it will be way too tall.

What is the metal hat?..... im installing coilovers and i ran into the too tall problem

excuse the mspaint work but i circled the metal hat on the strut in pink. you need to pop off that metal hat so you can slide the sleeve all the way down. to pop off the hat, use a flathead screwdriver and tap it with a hammer and the cap should pop right off.

quick question...how did u pop off the metal hat on the front struts. i popped the back off easy with a screwdriver and hammer, but the front ones would not come off...and this metal hat is restricting my car from sitting lower. any tips?

Thank god I saw this because I was super pissed off when I got them on and it was a little higher. Wow I feel like a green horn
