does any one know of any type of insluation i could wrap around my IC pipe by the exhaust manafold? to try and help keep heat out. where can i find it aslo?

anyone else got this, i tried to wrap it around my turbo manifold and it was a b****, also got it on my dump pipe and gonna put it on my down pipe soon.

raaz22y, did you install some on your car? how did you keep it on, i had to cut some of the wrap and make it in to string and tie it around, i was told to use radiator hose clamps but thats just ghetto. thanks for the help

I haven't installed it on my P5 turbo set up yet. But on my Civic drag car we wrapped the headers. It was a pain in the ass.... Wear gloves...fiberglass will stay in you hands forever . And yeah... the proper way to secure it is... use hose clamps. That is the best way! Wrap it like your wraping the grip on a hockey stick.
Over lap it. Trust me...if you want the racey look...it looks good once it has heated up. :D

Thanks! would it be cool it i wrap it around my intake pipe aslo to keep it cool around the exhaust manafold?

I don't know how much of a difference it makes, but I wrapped mine with thermo-tec wrap from summit racing (wrap, paint, and SS clamps were about $60 shipped).

Check out the picture, turned out nicely. Between that and some "custom" work on the manifold, I spool up fast. I only have about 4 psi of boosst (goes to about 6 when it peaks, but I can get most / all of it very soon. I've gotten 3 psi by 2000 rpm. Delivery is smooth.

I also wrapped the dump tube which is coated as well. Should have coated everything and wrapped everything including the turbo I guess, but I'm happy with the power delivery.

The wrap was a pain, I spent at least two hours, but I had to have it "perfect". I didn't cut it but once and only used five clamps (that you can barely see). On on each port and one at the end.

Enjoy!
