got my injen cai today :D friend of mine helped me install it. installation wasn't too bad though i ended up breaking the screw on the vibration damper and we had to relocated my hid ballast and drill a hole for it. car runs nice. turbo seems to spool a little faster and pull a little harder. i never had the hesitation so no comment on that. i'm still running stock psi btw. you can really hear the air being sucked it and the bpv is really loud. i kinda like the stock bpv but i'll prolly get a different bpv later. if all goes well, i'll have pics and maybe a small vid posted tomorrow :D

Let me know how that Injen works. I'm still thinking about getting one. And I'll check back later for those pics and video.

Ok, I've heard it's bad to have a BPV on a turbo car.. True or false?

I honestly think false, cause the reason I am told seems kinda iffy.

The reason you were told is wrong...not matter what it was! :D

The bpv just recirc's air that was already in the system. In a car w/ a MAF like ours, it's quite necessary. You can go BOV...but then you risk stalling until you learn how to drive it (not like a numbskull... :D) One way or another you need to get that excess boost out of the system or back to the intake side. Believe me...if you don't it creates boost lag or worse, it can cause damage to the turbo.

Yeah, I heard the suction from a the turbo would **** up the valve, but that's pretty much bulls***. Just wondering if there was ANY truth to it.

pluto316 - what bpv are we talking about? it looks like you're talking about an intake bpv, like what aem makes for their intakes to prevent water from getting to the engine. in that case, yes, it's bad to have it on a turbo for the reason you stated. the turbo causes the bpv to stay open essentially bypassing the filter completely. what i think everyone else thought you were talking about was the bpv used to recirculate the air (similar to a bov).

mikeeeee - it's my avatar that i made. her name's kyoko fukada. hehe, you like? :D

(hand) Oh, yea... THAT bpv... forgot about that one... YES, the CAI BPV is bad for any forced induction car. The turbo's BPV is needed in all turbo cars (the stock one that sounds like a turky).
