but 11whp sounds crazy from just an intake, i will wait to see how creditable this is

Your right, 11hp gain is huge, I just gained 12hp at the wheels doing a header that eliminated a pre-cat ( SE-R).....I can't see Mazda making the stock airbox that restrictive , who knows..time will tell ~

i think with intake and a better exhaust that 11-12whp is possible
the header is fine i guess on the 3

I'm putting in a Borla exhaust system front to back in two weeks, I think with that and the CAI I should get a nice little gain.

the stock airbox on a 3 is very VERY restrictive. I just took all of mine out and WOW! huge restriction! i can deffinately see 11hp being possible. plus i think AEM always guarantees 14hp from their intakes or you get your money back. Not too sure of that.. and especially with the 3.. but i have heard that numerous times.

Nope, the guy said they'd be in the mid 2's. I wouldn't think they'd be much difference in price with the AEM's.

i think cost is around $120-$140...depending on the retail of it. if so I am getting one cheap intake real soon.
