Injen CAI and AEM Bypass Valve

Here is some usefull information. I have seen a lot of threads out there regarding people worring about sucking up water into the Injen CAI. The Injen CAI can use the AEM Bypass Valve which reduces the risk of sucking up water into the engine, but it also reduces HP gains because of its shape rough internal edges ( Source from AEM's Website). Here is the link to where you can get the bypass valve

Also. here is a little tid bit from Injen's website about how much water it would actually take to damage anything. from what i understand you would have to hit a pretty damn deep puddle (probably a pond!! :p) to actually do any damage.

MYTH: A bypass valve cannot be used on an Injen Intake System.

FACT: A bypass valve can be used on most 2.50", 2.75", and 3.00" applications.

MYTH: Water will enter my engine and damage it.

FACT: The most common way for water to enter the engine is for the filter to be entirely submerged. The length the water would then have to travel, significantly reduces the possibility of harm being done.

Just thought i would share this usfull information with everyone!

Ohh by the way my Injen is comming today!!! YEAH!!!!

That's where I got mine too, but waiting period is really long.
I think Jilao is still waiting for the injen he ordered 2 weeks ago.

Well its all done!!! Injen is in! the sound it sweet i love it... fells alittle more peppy and alot smother... thats what i noticed on first impressions... I would have taken pics but it got dark and now its raining so ill take some and post them up soon.

I doubt a pond would even get water in there. I read a test of the AEM valve in an import mag from last year, and they tested it out on a Acura NSX. It dynoed at 380HP or something ( Supercharged ). They took the intake, made a pipe to come out of the engine bay, then did a full dyno pull with the filter submerged in a fish tank. Water came to the valve and that's it, and the car made only 12HP less sucking in through the valve. I think the valve in a lower intake speed car like ours would only cost maybe 1-2HP.

I'm getting and Injen CAI and AEM for $220 shipped, slightly used. Not bad to Canada I guess.
