I was just wondering if anyone knew why our injectors are 2 different colors. I mean you have 2 green and 2 purple. Is there a difference?

no difference. just making the engine bay look pretty ;)

honestly i dont know. i cant see any reason why they would be different though.

Neither can I. Especiall since they're on "mismatched" cylinders. For example, one color for cylinders 1 and 2 and another color for 3 and 4 (can't remember the specific colors off hand). I can't imagine why they'd use different flow injectors. When I get a chance, I may have to look at the part numbers to see if they are, indeed, different (which I'm willing to bet they are). I haven't paid that much attention, but do our fuel rails have a return? Perhaps there's a situation where less fuel is injected on the source side of the rail than the other. (dunno)

i don't know but it really doesn't seem to make sence espeshally in the world of massproduction you would think that they would want then to all be the same.... so there has to be a reason for it

The injectors operate in banks driven by the pulses on the same timing as the two coils. They are color coded so that the wires that feed them will never be hooked up incorectly. If they get mismatched the fuel will come out at the wrong time in the firing sequence.

if you buy, OEM replacements yes.

if you buy aftermarket injectors from a company like RC, they won't be.

they are only color coded by mazda so that its more user friendly to hookup.
