Infotainment display issue

I took delivery of my 2014 GT Tech Edition this weekend. Almost immediately, it developed an issue with the infotainment screen. The screen will flutter vertically. It happens very often but not constantly. It seems like a bad connection somewhere. So far, the dealership hasn't been able to find the issue.

Anyone else seen this?

You have the new version 25.xx.xxx. We have an old version that is 20.00.007, which has many USB issues.
So, choose your poison. Wait for the next update. That is all I can say...

Ahh...thanks. Silly question: How do I confirm my firmware version?

Edit: I found it. And, you are correct. I'm running version 25.x.

What is your confidence that this is a software bug? It looks like a bad connection. And it's sporadic. That's what the dealer has been looking for. But, I don't want to waste to much time if it is just going to need the next version.

It is a software bug.
Someone updated the software and the same issue showed up.

The dealer called me today and said that Mazda had given them some things to try. Primarily, they said to disable wireless. He said that they want me to bring in the car next week and they would be doing some testing. I'll update this thread once that is done.

But, in the meantime, I disabled wireless and bluetooth. I later re-enabled bluetooth. I haven't had any 'fluttering' of the screen since. Honestly, I'm not sure what the point of wireless is...so, no big loss.

It may be the issue, though.

I would guess that the BT is OK. It is probably the Wi-Fi trying to find stations to connect to.
Most people do not need the Wi-Fi feature anyway (I don't).
I do use BT on daily basis.

Great!
Mazda is asking we the owners to help debug their software issues....

Just reporting back on this issue. Ever since I turned off the wifi, I havent had any issues with the screen shaking. I talked to the dealership today and we agreed there was nothing for them to do. I still dont understand what the point of wifi is on the car. Maybe for the dealer to upload firmware?

Wifi is there for you to download traffic info, etc., if you have a cellular hotspot or when you are at home in the garage.
Anyway, try not to use USB or Wifi for now until Mazda figures these firmware bugs out. It might take up to a year.

I had reported this as well and it only started happening after the dealer updated my firmware. Mazda USA already confirmed another software update already in the works and that being one of the bugs they are addressing.
