Hi, I am from Probetalk.com forums.
I am posting here on msprotege.com to request some information on 99-03 Mazda Protege/Protege5 Struts.
Recently we found that the 99-03 Protege Ksport coilovers are compatible with a 93-97 Ford Probe. Only difference being the tab for your rear sway bar link is not used on a probe. This opens up a larger selection of actual coilover setups available that we can use. JIC, B+G, TEIN, K-Sport, etc. Our previous options were simply lowering springs, coilover sleeves and AWR full coilover setups. We are seeking to find if your aftermarket struts and springs are also compatible with our Probes. We are more interested in the struts because our OEM spring rates seem to be stiffer than most of your aftermarket lowering springs' rates. But we are unsure if your spring diamaters and heights are the same as ours. To be able to confirm our beliefs. We need some measurements of your OEM struts and springs.
Here is what I am requesting measurements for.
1. Distance from Strut base to Perch
2. Distance from Strut base to Strut Mount with strut fully extended.
3. Diameter of strut perch.
4. Diameter of spring (front and rear, top and bottom of spring)
5. Height of spring.
Any additional information you can give would also be appreciated such as strut valving, dampening, shock travel, what aftermarket struts are available, or anything that you think would be helpful.
Thanks in advance for any information you can provide.
