open everything up down to the circuit boards, unsolder the LEDs on the circuit boards, solder in new colored LEDS. close everything up.

CKIM - if you change your int. lights lemme see a pic of em, I know there is a new gauge cluster out that is blue for the 3 on ebay called angel gauges. And I changed my headunit to a blue one, the only thing that is left is the A/C controls and thats pretty much it, time to change out my red neons back to blue =).

That sounds hot. This would be a really cheap mod and look pretty good, I would love to try. I'm pretty good at getting things apart but its the putting things back together the way they came that gets me in trouble (smash)

some one did do this to all the interior lighting on the dash and radio console making it all blue instead of red... looked hot!!! so a search i bet the pic is there somewhere.

So the plastik trim is actually clear, just the bulbs behind it are amber?

Because if the plastik is amber and you place blue leds in there, it would look horrible.

The plastic is clear, but it has a little red film on the back of it. That's what makes the little line to the sides of the volume knob look orange when the stereo's off. If you replace the red LEDs with blue ones you'll still need to scrape that film off, otherwise you'll have a weird color coming out.
