Yes, I find it amazing that people expect you to belive they can put an engine together when they can't even put a sentence together.:D

HAHAHHAHAHA, well put.

It's my opinion that people on this forum would tend to take your posts with a greater grain of salt, if your grammar is two shades short of incoherent ... At least I do ... I find myself paying more attention to writers who use complete, logical sentences and correct grammar & spelling ... They just make more sense. :D

Exactly. If there's no punctuation and things are constantly misspelled and sentences run on, etc, then I just lose the urge to read it. I'm not expecting people to be Pulitzer winners here, I just want something I can understand. And little things like writing "in tack" make you seem uneducated...therefore people will be less likely to trust what you say.

agreed.

It's more of a subtle thing really.. People who use better grammer seem to be more trustworthy, and knowledgable. Keyword however for this site is *SEEM*...;)

By the way, grammar is spelled with an A not an E. :D

This is the Murphy's law of posts criticizing grammar or spelling. You always get something wrong yourself.:D

And there's nothing wrong with going back later and editing if you find a mistake.

one mistake that most people make is when they are asked how they are doing they answer "good".
well, thats WRONG. you are doing WELL, not good, good is used to describe taste or smell, so if you say that you are good, you mean that you taste good

You have to love grammer class

well thats not something I need to know

if you were a fine ass woman, well then that might be some useful information.

oh and if you actualy know how good you taste, you have some serious issues

I think my worst pet peeve for grammar is the incorrct use of to and too
i.e. the honda was to slow (incorrect)
the honda was too slow (correct)

I completely agree with what you guys are saying. I had correct grammar hammered into my head by my teachers AND my father growing up; now I can't read anything or listen to anyone without catching their errors. Ooooh, speaking of their, how about: their, there, and they're... those get misused all the time!

Anyway, the NE thing makes me wonder... what does "woOt" stand for? I keep seeing it and can't figure out what it is. Can someone tell me?

lol, its the internet its demented me, all those chat rooms were ppl use shortcuts ppl instead of people, :( im a cyber kid, im doomed for the rest of my life, hence why i can type a 5 page paper in about a 30 mins using my short type gotta love word, and how it auto formats, i just added all my short hand type to the dictionary and walla fixed, and i passed college english comp 1 and 2 with straight a's :) microsoft word owns.
