Import Tuner article

very good article. almost 30hp and a hair more than 30 ftlbs of torque with all 3 mods

Interesting, does the vibrant exhaust replace the 2nd cat then? They got quite a bit of power from just doing that exhaust, downpipe didnt add as much on top as I would have though.

Actually it looks like it does. At first I didnt think it did.

I remember the thread with that article, tho I never actually read the article until now.

Nice article, but sheesh only 60 minutes for a downpipe install??? They must have a lift and pro tools and be super speedy with that! I remember a dp install ony my eclipse gs-t took no time since its easily accessible. But on this car the dp looks like such a chore!

I noticed some flaws in their article tho: they called the vibrant a downpipe back, then at the end they called it a catback and talked about putting in a corksport testpipe. But if the vibrant is a dp back it already has the testpipe section so there would be no need to put in a testpipe. They only found 5hp and 8tq from the downpipe? Seems kind of low, and makes me think twice about wanting to do it myself.

Thats why I was wondering, wording was strange, with those power increases I'd think it replaced the test pipe. Most people that just do CBE dont record those kind of gains.

yeah the vibrant should be a dp back, so that takes out a cat right there. So I dont know why at the end they mentioned something about "removing cars for race purposes" and there is a test pipe to do that, but the vibrant already takes that section out. And the gains for the dp seemed very small to me also

More WHP/ WTQ than a EVO plus being ligher = No chance in hell of losing to one in a contest of all out power such as starting from 30mph and above. Kind of cool considering our car is like 11k less :) - However, in any other contest the EVO would eat your ass lol!

I bet they mixed up the dyno numbers for the downpipe and vibrant downpipe back exhaust (scratch)
