I'm seriously thinking about getting this.

LS2 - 395 horsies, 400 ft. lbs of torque

The regular traiblazer doesn't do anything for me, but when I found out that this version was coming out I was hooked.

I already went to a couple of dealers and found out that production started last week. I guess I shouldn't expect to pay less than sticker, $36,990 for the particular one I want. The dealer will contact me with more info.

Do you need extra financing to fill that thing up?
Can always take out a loan, a mortgage, or marry the daughter or a gas station owner

Dont get that thing, SUV's suck, horrible vehicles, Horrible gas, And pointless unless you actually use them for what they're designed for.

I would like to say, dont buy an SUV if you dont need it for what it is made for but that would make me a hypocrite since I drive an RX-8 that only get's 14-17 mpg and the other car is a V6 when it could be a 4 cyl.

That black is looking hott. IDK if I would dig the gas prices, but it's def. an eye-catcher. But, like any other GM, will it have some crap issues?

Well, my wife and I need a truck for a couple of reasons:

1. We own a house, I don't think any further explanation is needed. :)

2. We plan on starting a family next year. A lowered (stiff) P5 with a system that takes 3/4 of the cargo area (no space) and no warranty (90k miles) AND a miata won't cut it.

As far as fuel is concerned, this vehicle is inline w/ others that we are looking at.

So far we test drove:
-Nissan Pathfinder
-Infiniti FX35
-Ford Expedition
-VW Toureg
-Chrysler Pacifica

and looked, but didn't drive:
'06 Ford Explorer
-Subaru B9 Tribeca
-Chevy Tahoe

How big of a family are you looking to make, jeesh. I dont understand people, you could buy a volvo, and it would be better and safer then buy a SUV and holds the same amount. But unless your a mormon then by all means get a suv. I have a house, and I dont need a SUV. Its called delivery, most furniture places offer it for free.

if you're dead set on suv's, check out the volvo xc90. extremely safe, has good power, and it's easy on the eyes.

i wouldn't get the trailblazer, simply because the added performance will hurt the already weak mpg. hi-performance + truck/suv = worst gas mileage possible.

couldnt have said it any better myself

The Trailblazer beats it's price point, but if I were in that market I would get a Jeep SRT-8. That thing is a blast to drive. Although it should ride a little stiffer then the Trailblazer, it will out handle it with ease. Not to mention it looks meaner IMO.

Let me know if you wanna hear my story about GM and their crappy vehicles. Of course, this was a long time ago, 2000 model year Sonoma extra cab. just a hint, one of the many problems-17 trips to the stealer for a minor problem...the seats slid all the way into the dash when I stopped. Yup, tons of reports of the problem with nhtsa...other stuff too, let me know if you want a GMC laundry list of suckage.

Also, they might be a lot now, wait 1-2 years, get them when they are worth 8 grand.

yeah man... u don't need this thing in your life. you said you're planning on starting a family next year. as most of us know, those things don't just pop out the second you decide you want one. most of us had to try for at least a few months before gold was struck. That said, by the time you've made your 20th payment to GM you'll finally have the #2 reason for getting this thing. (your #1 reason was just plain absurd. since when does owning a house equate to owning an suv?) But anyway... don't be fooled by these numbers. 400hp sounds great and all but at what cost? not only will the mpg suck more than your future baby (in the literal sense or course) but, since it's on a truck frame, it won't have the 'sporty' characteristics necessary in order to make that kind of power fun.

At the very least, I'd wait until you actually have a family. it's gonna be a good year until it's actually necessary for you to even have a bigger car. (unless, of course, you insist on delivering all of your stuff for your house yourself) which, btw, most suvs dont' have a ton of room. they're almost on par with a typical station wagon!
