You'll have a great time. Once you take that first step, you won't want to stop. There are a bunch of Mazda nuts around this area. If you find one of the local groups (I'm there as "AIMW04), you may be able to meet up with them on one of their runs. I don't get to tag along, as I have a life and 3 kids. (beer)

(usa) You'll meet people in the same boat as you, and you'll get to experience life. At least it's not a military commitment. I did that and got a wonderful trip to Germany.

Yeah, im only 21 with no GF and no kids:) I'm really looking foreward to going now and I should have some fun. I figured I hadn't moved away from home for college or anything yet so I needed to give it a try. It seems kind like going to the military, but the good part is your not signing your life away for years at a time lol, this is only 5 months, and I can leave if I need too.

Your kidding right? Sh!t.

I don't even want to know what its going to be in 3 weeks when I get there, nor do I want to know what its gonna be like in Dec-Feb. All I know is that down here we get one or two nights under freezing but its always atleat 50 durring the day all winter. Am I going to die?
 
I was going to go shopping tomorrow but theres not much of a market for winter clothing down here that don't say "Disney" all over it lol. I know I get discounts on stuff at the resort while im up there but that may be too late, ill check out those sites, thanks much man:)
 
the "d(st)eals" you may get at the resort wont be as good as the deals you will get on stuff from those places.

Sierra Trading post is my family's favorite, we order stuff all the time, always get about 50% off...
 
I know a guy from Florida who used to live in CO. It was funny watching him freak out when it got cold. But I told him to buy a good jacket, hat and gloves and he'll be fine. Please from Florida are such wussies when it comes to the cold.

And 24 for a low is nothing. Just wait until you see HALF that for a HIGH!

I lived in De Pere, WI (suburb of Green Bay) for 2 years in high school. The first winter (and this is right after we moved there from Phoenix, AZ), school was cancelled for 2 or 3 days. Not because of snow, but because of wind chill. I forget the exact numbers, but they were in the neighborhood of -45*F. The air temp was something like -20*F as well. I set a pop can filled with water outside and came back to it about 10 minutes later. The water split the can's side open, but froze solid before it could run out onto the ground.
 
I have now paid my deposit on my appartment, paid for the bus from Denver International to Keystone, paid for the plane ticket there, and have everything set up to start work on the 15th! I also bought a bunch of stuff from that Sierra web site and it will be here soon. Now all I have to do is pack up and wait for the 13th, its gonna be fun, I can't wait!
 
lol, its funny because I'm getting nervous and crap about everything but its too late, Ive paid my way there and the deposit on the room:) I cant wait and am a little weird about going at the same time.
 
dont get there and back out in two weeks.... like my brother in law does with everything. Literally. Biggest loser I know.
 
Well the reason why I'm doing this is to keep me from backing out and taking the easy way out of things I don't like. I'm going to make the best of this no matter what and stay there untill April. My bro, well I can't even start with him... lets just say I don't wanna be like him either.
 
I am just glad the person I am talking about isn't a blood relative... ^_^
