I'm depressed.....

I think I joined this forum a bit too late. I'm in the CX-7 addiction phase and find myself always checking this site out for new messages, but there aren't many new postings. I wish I'd bought my car a year ago when the newness of the vehicle had people posting like mad. I used to be an active member on the Chrysler 300 forum but I sold my car a couple of years ago, and not until my CX-7 have I been so excited about owning a car.

I tried to register in the "other" forum, but I never received my email to complete registration, even after sending emails to the webmaster and moderators. (nobody)

Oh well, what's a CX-7 junkie to do? (drunk)(help)

Chris, don't worry you're not the only one. I bought mine Dec. 28, 2006 and joined this forum around January 2007. I visit this forum daily without fail ever since and has learned a lot from the wealth of information. It has done a lot of things for me with regards to taking care of my CX7 and knowing some more things about cars. If I don't see anything new on here, I venture to other sections of mazdas247 and learned some more things about cars.

And yeah, when I first joined, I discovered that there are lots of things I learned to customize my CX7 and have done some of them including the TSB. My CX7 is problem-free which I am thankful for. Don't fret though cuz there are more things coming our way.

Have fun.

I hear you!!

Unfortunately as sporty as the CX-7 is 90% of the people who buy them aren't going to Mod or race them, which really cuts back on the quantity of posts. The 300 forum is full of posts about modifications and track times, if you took all those posts out there wouldn't be much left.

I don't think I've ever seen a post about a CX-7 going to the drag strip, there's been a couple of G-Tech posts, but no actual track times. There are some guys starting to put big wheels and accessories on, but I've always been into actual performance mods not the visual stuff.

Well,

If it's performance info you need then jump into the Speed3 Section. The DISI 2.3 engine on the CX-7 is common with the Speed 3 and Speed 6 so most of the Speed3&6 mods are going to offer the same type of performance gain on the CX-7.

I traded in my Speed 3 about 3-weeks ago...It was a compromise for a little more space for the family. Still not sure if it was a good choice...but this will be my daily driver for the next 3 years, so I might as well enjoy it!

Going to do basic bolt on's to my CX-7: boost gauge, dash-hawk, exhaust, intercooler, BPV etc.

I've got SRI and Forge already installed and the CX-7 is already performing better. I notice better pull through the lower gears. I will comfirm this all when I install the boost gauge.

I don't mod or race my CX. I just think it's a fun and beautiful car - and no matter how bad my day at work is, I can always count on the sight of my CX waiting in the parking lot to cheer me up! I like this forum, because it's full of people who love their CXs as much as (or more than) I love mine. And, should anything go wrong with our beloved Mazdas, we have a sympathetic, supportive, and helpful audience. So, welcome to the club! And congrats on your new CX!!

I agree, there doesn't seem to be much to talk about regarding the CX-7 these days.

I'm incredibly disappointed in the low amount of visual/convenience mods that have been put out. DAMD has some cool stuff (I really want the grill garnish), but the prices are too inflated. All I've been able to do is add the JDM LED sideview mirrors and aluminum door scuff plates.

I don't think anything else is coming. :(

I think that part of the problem is also due to the fact that so much crying & whinning goes on here... MPG complaints & premium gas "discussions" go on ad nauseum. Not to mention the few, unfortunate, worst case scenarios, that were documented here too. My sympathies to those who know who they are.

Early on, it was pure and naive excitement.

I still love mine because it is exactly what I expected it to be. It is a stylish, performance oriented, CUV. It is incredibly safe and nimble, and for an old fart like myself, it comes with just enough from the factory to satisfy me. Most of all, it is fun to drive!

NOTHING in life is perfect.

I used to be a regular contributer on a Chrysler 300C forum a few years back before I sold my Hemi. When I first joined the site, the list of members was rather small and the info was wonderful. Then the site grew immensely as the car gained in popularity and car sales, and people would post the stupidest crap...." I found a hair on my engine cover, this happen to anyone else"? This is obviously an exaggeration, but I was so tired of the stupid stuff people would post and you would have to sort thru piles of posting to find anything of interest. I guess I can relate to singlemalt18's feelings.

Nobody's whining, just wishing there was more frequent postings in the CX-7 sections. Seems like postings have diminished over the past week or two.

Chirst! you ppl need to stop whinning!!!

j/k...:)

hmmm....

Me thinks you doth protest too much... or at least continue to misspell too much.

This is WINNING, not whinning!

Time is a good thing...In my experience...Sometimes the "golden years" are not when a model is new and "on sale" but when a model becomes a "good buy" as a "pre-owned" car...:)

Plus...It doesn't hurt to be more active in posting about new ideas and potential mods...;)

Be patient and don't give up!

Well said :D

I think it's typical to post a great deal more when you first get your vehicle...there's an excitement and enjoyment for a while and then it drops off...not that we love our cars any less...for awhile it's the focus but I have learned lately to live in the moment...be present. Many things are driven by our ego's and are ego's are not really who we are. Anyway....you guys are probably saying what??? When I drive I really am aware of the car, the sounds, the feel and the scenery around me....so I enjoy this car even more so....try it sometime. It's fun to mod our cars but I think people feel the financial crunch were in right now and those things are put lower on the list....it's that way for me anyway. Peace to everyone and hang in there more people will join, more will eventually mod their cars and share their excitement!

well...i would be posting, but wait im not gonna get into it hahahha

altho i must say this board pretty much DIED out. over on the acura side of things, board is def not like this one

with actual after market support for the 7, i would think people would be posting like crazy or something here

only 2 somewhat decent things are out for my RDX, ECU tune and now a CAI by your beloveds CP-E. no exahust is out for my ride, no kits, nothing, zippo. you guys should be happy! the only thing i got coming to my truck is rims and eibach spring kit that will also take my truck down an inch.

That CP-E CAI looks like it would be kick-ass on your RDX!! Sounds like the RDX set-up really responds to it.

I, too, am an everyday visitor to the site. Just bought my '08 CX7 last month due to expanding family. One of the biggest reasons I visit here is I love being on the 'bandwagon'. I dig hearing praises for the car that I actually own! I love it too... just got back from another long trip to Charleston, SC, and it is sooo great for long trips. The gas mileage on long trips is fine (unless I am the leader in a 90+ mph highway race... hehe(drive2)). So I will keep checkin back, and posting praises, if y'all will do the same. ;-)

I had initially ordered it, then renegged because it was not tested to work with the Hondata tune, i didnt feel like being the tester either lol. They have sent one over to Hondata, but as it stands now, nothing yet.

their CAI changed the fuel ratios by tricking the MAF sensor...i didnt wana have that going on along with an ECU change that was made on a stock and not incorporating the air/fuel intake.

i opted for the ECU and if hondata does something with the intake, ill grab one when i know.

The RDX is repsonding huge to everything so far. the Hondata ECU found gains across the entire powerband, around like 30hp/20+tq, the CAI seemed to snif in almost 20hp and 15+ tq, at peak tho...but still pretty good.

as it stands on the initial church dynos, they thought acura underrated the engine a bit, but seeing these kinds of gains, there is a ton of potential untapped under the hood with NO AFTERMARKET SUPPORT! lol Church automotive got 40Hp & 40tq with his setup but no dice on obtaining that so far
