Im a dumbass and broke the maf

I broke mine, the dealer charged me about 500 for a new one. I poked the little Diode that hangs down and snapped it off. ****.

Those damn things are expensive as hell, on my old car I broke mine and it was going to cost me 600 from the dealer. I have a shop around here that locates used and new Mazda parts, not the dealer, a seperate shop, so that is a huge help. But that best bet is to try and find a junkyard with a MSP in it. Good luck.

I doubt that there are many of these cars in the junk yard but you can check. Good luck, I wish you the best of luck. I'm starting a search for Protege ignition wiring harness' soon. I want to make a harness for my Turbo Timer, that was I can just plug it in, and leave my stock wiring alone, a little late for this now, but I'll hide it well.

$500 on a MAF, or $500 towards an ECU that uses a MAP.... I choose the ecu

though if you can get one cheap from a junk yard DO IT!!!!

What ecu are you speaking of?

Matt
not a cheap one... I was thinking of a Haltech when I wrote that... I'm just discusted by the $500 price tag of a new MAF

I would check the compatability of the probe or mx6 93+....I believe that our ecus use the same maf but just intrepret the signal a different way.... I know that mx6 mafs run off the same voltage as ours...BUT I say go map go map go map...def. a better choice if you must spend money!!!!! then you could get an safc to interpret the map signals and convert them for your ecu!!!!! so 40 bux for the map and 200ish for the safc...done deal....
