Have a good experience at the dealership/service department? Post a summary here.

Have a bad dealership/service department? Give others a heads up.

Since this discussion was taking over the "Spotted" thread I started this thread to keep that one on track.

Rosen service is great. Arnold at Lake Villa is courteous and helpful, always willing to chat a little. George at Waukegan is awesome - known him since I bought my p5 in 03. He and Arnold have both worked their way up the ladder as techs, so they have great experience working with vehicles.

George was particularly helpful one time when I was having some maintenance done to the car. He found that the master cylinder was busted. He immediately arranged for me to have a loaner car while he looked into possible warranty work (my car was slightly beyond warranty). He worked his magic, and I came away with a new master cylinder at no cost to me.

Another thing I liked about George - he insisted on the personal touch. One time he noticed that my A-pillar wasn't sitting right after the techs took it apart to check for something I had complained about. He immediately replaced it with a new one. He also refused to use the dealer's car wash - instead ordering his people to hand-wash the cars.

rosen mazda near gurnee seems straight

i go there for my oil changes with my momds and they dont give me any crap

Arnold @ Rosen in LV is great. Been going there for years and never had any issues with them at all. They are cool with your mods and are willing to install them if needed. Also if you are ever in the neighborhood and are looking for a good sales rep... Marion is the SH!T! She is always helpful and willing to checkout any information for you.

NOW ROTO.... I FN hate. Well at least the GM. When the 07 MS3 first came out I had called around to get one. Of course dealers wanted deposits to hold the car. ROTO seemed to be the cheapest with their deposit request ($500). I paid them and waited 2 months. While I was waiting I went over to see Rosen LV and bought the Cosmic blue from them instead of waiting on ROTO. I called them to get back my $500 and the GM told me literally to go F myself and I wasn't getting my money back since I bought a car somewhere else. When I said, ok I won't buy it from Rosen, where is my car? He said he still didn't have an ETA. Funny part... I call BBB and all of a sudden I have a check in my hands for $500. Plus I had my CC reverse the charges so ROTO was out $1,000. The GM at ROTO called me a week after I got my check and I said to him... now who should go F themselves??? I will never step on that lot unless I have a brick for the GM's office window.

Bill Jacobs in Joliet has always been nice, no problems from them, and the service manager lives a few houses down from me, so i know hes not gonna **** me over

Bigger's Mazda in Elgin are good people. They are mod friendly unless there is an obvious correlation of mod contributed failure, like one should expect. When my fuel pump went out, they were going to try to push it through for me, but politely advised that a Mazda rep would most likely come out to inspect the vehicle, as they would with any drivability claims, and leave a nice bill for their time. I certainly understood the situation and got the PTP pump, but the point is that they did not give an auto-denial response when they saw the mods, just scenerios to be prepared for. Good guys out there.

As far as car purchases goes, Roto Mazda was pretty good for me. Got a decent deal and was treated with respect even though our offer was not what they wanted initially.

Maybe they learned from the experience they had with me :)

I hope they got better service people than they did before. A few years back my old 04 Mazda was taken in there for an oil change. After the oil change the car sat on the parking lot for 3 days waiting for the tires to come to my uncles shop to get them install. The day after they came I was on the way to his shop and on the way their the car completely died, no warning lights nothing. The car just stopped on 53 after Biesterfield. The car got towed to Schaumburg Mazda and they start digging in the car. After an hour they come back and ask who did the last oil change. Told them to look in the computer. They did and saw it was Biggers. I later found out that Biggers did not use the proper wrench on the oil filter cap and broke the plastic. All the oil leaked out and the engine went to s***. Schaumburg Mazda replaced the engine on a 3 year old car and put a new one in.
