Just wondering what all you MSPers Idle was when the car was warm.

i test drove an MSP and it sat around 1500 every time I came to neutral then worked down to 800. Is this normal for you guys aswell?

Hey 1st, my car Idles at exactly 700 rpm. I had put the K&N cone filter on and had nothing but problems with idle and stalling, even after resetting the ECU. I have since re-installed the stock airbox and reset the ECU once again, and the car is now running better than when I drove her off the lot.

I am wondering more of what happens when you first depress the clutch, does idle hit 1500 then slowly come down or does it go right to 700-800?

Yeah mine does that too when I push the clutch to start it, It will drop a little when I release it to start idleing. Plus with the Sparkco wires on it mine Idles at like 500-600 after it is warm. I also notice that when it is idleing and I turn the wheel the rpms move a little too. I guess the power steering pump is a big drain.

My car idles around 500-600 too... Is that bad for the motor? I only have 470 miles on it... Do I still need to break it in more?

To reset the ECU do you just unplug the battery terminal for a period of time? Or is there another method?

When I first start the car the idle is up around 1500rpm, but once the engine has warmed up it drops down to 700 or 800. Seems fine.

mine did the almost stall thing twice. i was like wtf? i was in N, didnt have the clutch pressed or anything

My car always seemed to run a little higher RPM's in the morning due to being a cold start, but whenever I noticed the "almost stall" thing, it was usually at full temp. **Normal operating temp I mean** I would be embarassed as hell if the damn thing died on me at an intersection. Everyone would hear my car start again, then laugh cause they would think I stalled it...

i stalled once at an intersection like dumbass because i forgot i was in gear, LOL

I think we've all done that at some time or another...how about starting in 2nd?? I've forgot to up shift after coming to a light, and let the clutch out, and the car doesnt want to go anywhere...thats just as bad...
