Idle question

I have a 2001 Protege LX with a 2.0 liter engine and manual transmission with approximately 76,800 miles on it. This evening while I was waiting at a stop light, I noticed that the tach needle was moving up and down between the normal idle and 0 RPM. I had the EGR valve, coil, timing belt, serpetine belts, water pump and catalytic converter replaced last fall at the dealership along with a tune-up, cooling system flush and fuel induction service. Right now I have not quite 3/4 of a tank of gas. What could be the problem?

could be a million things i would check all your hoses for any leaks if not that than you can spray carb cleaner around the intake manifold while the car is idling and if the idles increase than you know that you have an intake manifold gasket leaking. This is a common problem and a total b**** to replace.

Funny thing is, it's only happened to me right before I posted this topic. Believe me, I've been keeping a very close eye on it over the last 2 weeks. Any suggestions?
