Ideal settings

This may have been discussed before, but what are the settings that you guys (girls) have found to sound the best with the z828. Frequency etc. thanks

Weird, I just went through this yesterday because I was getting pissed off at how my old settings were distorting a lot on songs with a lot of bass. I tried the aforementioned settings (although on my z919) and I thought they sucked. I listen to music with a lot of bass (rap, techno) and couldn't get much volume out of it without distorting. Yesterday evening after work, I came up with something I really like. From memory, the best thing I've tuned out of it so far is something like:

Fade - +4 to the front
Bass - +4
Bass Q - 2.00
Bass ext - On
NF Lev - +1 through +3 depending on song
Treble - +5

HPF R - Through
HPF F - 220Hz
LPF NF - 120Hz
Phase - Normal

On the subwoofer, I have the gain/volume at about half, and the low pass filter pretty low. My biggest problem with the settings linked to by mp3_559 were that punching bass and "higher lows" were totally unaccaptable. They would distort like crazy. I belive this came from the THROUGH setting on the LPF NF (low pass filter for the sub) and the LPF on the subwoofer being set too high. The kenwood sub doesn't appear to like higher frequency bass (above 120Hz) which is typical of punchy bass.

Also I disagree with the Through setting on the front speakers. The fronts should not allow all frequencies through them. I put my head by my speakers with those settings and they were popping a lot. Good thing they weren't blown!

I can now listen to songs that used to distort like mad at volume 18 at volume level 26. It sounds great. I was considering ditching the stock subwoofer and getting something else, but now I am happy for awhile :).

P.S. I tuned my stereo while listening to music that typically distorted a lot at higher volumes (Wu-Tang and their VERY dirty sounding bass/beats). After that, I put in stuff that was a lot punchier and it sounded great.
