Doesn't it "marry" itself to a particular car unless uninstalled correctly? Something to think about if going used.

From everything I've read, it does marry the unit to the particular car. I would assume this is done because once the ECU is reprogrammed, you can unplug the AP from the car. What would prevent someone from buying an AP then charging friends/etc $50 or so to reprogram ECU after ECU. From the SU page for the AP:

"You Purchased an AccessPORT from Someone on eBay and it is Married

• Assuming you are not able to contact the seller, you have to send us the AccessPORT and we un-marry it. However, Cobb will charge you for the license ($395) since the old one is still out there making another car super fast."

So, buying a used one isn't a problem, but I would buy it from someone you know or with some mechanism for dispute/return/refund should the person not have 'unmarried' the unit before selling it.

I'll bet that's why the guy was only accepting money order, probly gonna rip someone off. So looks like there's a good chance you may end up paying more for a used one than just getting one new.

daonly1around: yes, it flashes the computer and you don't have to keep it plugged in after that.

Right, can only have one car flashed at a time. While the flash is installed on a car the AP is married to that car and can't be used on another. As for unlocking it, I'm sure anything's possible, but I'm sure most of us don't have the resources or the know how to do something like that. Besides, that would be cheating Cobb

if you dont have enough mods for stage 2 tune, dont waste your money, guys are running slower with stage 1 tunes. AP will be much better once the protuner is released and we can do custom dyno tunes. Until then, ill stick with my stock ecu..

My car is more powerful with the stage 1+ ms cai tune, but there are people who report running slower 1/4 mile times on stage 1 and stage 2

i think alot of it has to do with elevation, you are also running the + version, the regular stage 1 mscai, is said to be horrible..

What do you mean the regular stage 1 ms cai? That map does not exist. The + is for intake so Stage 1 does not include an intake and therefore there is no stage 1 ms cai map. What has to do with elevation, who says stage 1+ ms cai is horrible? This is how rumors get started.

Stage 1 loses maybe 1 hp of PEAK power, but as far as I have seen, you make much more power throughout the whole powerband. It's not all about peak

BTW guys i wuz the one selling the AP didnt hava pay-pal but i got rid of it in 2days on here n no i wuznt looking 2 rip sum1 off.It is married to your car when u first download it but u can also unmarry it and sell it as if it wuz brand new.Guy gotta deal if u ask me 625shipped is what he got it 4.
