Yep. I'm too broke of a college kid to afford a nice exhaust system, so I did the next best thing. Took the exhaust off right where it connects to the flex pipe. Sounds great and shouldn't have a problem with boost creep. Definitely a lot louder and sounds mean.

My parents said it wasn't loud at all. I guess because the exhaust basically exits underneath the seats, allot of the sound is dissipated.

My initial complaints:

Because the exhaust exits right underneath the seats, you can feel the vibration when accelerating. Also, it makes the typical squeaks/creaks/sounds even more prominent. And if you are under WOT and let off, the sound of it revving down is deafening. But all in all I'm happy.

The start up sound is just amazing. I'll get more video later. This was a very spur of the moment thing.

I could do many things. There were tons of options, including exhaust systems from reliable manufacturers like Cobb and Borla, a custom exhaust system for a reputable shop here in town, removing the resonators and replacing with a pipe. However, I have literally no money to spend in modification for the car right now, so this was a quick and easy "modification."

The good thing is, should I ever want or need to put it back on, all I need is a simple weld. Shouldn't be too hard.

I'm thinking about taking off the wheels too. Just for some weight reduction.

Who cares about the envrionment? lol.

I still have the cat on there, so I care a little. About the residential neighborhood thing. I probably hit about 130mph in that video...and there were kids playing on the street...and old ladies were walking outside...and there was a parade.

Is your next mod going to be Swampass`s Hood LEDs?
Or are you Swampie in disguise?

Seriously, you can not leave your exhaust open under your car like that. It is more than just dangerous but irresponsible on your part! At least have a pipe turn out to the side of the car. If a cop pays attention and does not see any kind of tail pipe and your car irritates him you will get pulled over and ticketed. Open fumes under your car is illegal and dangerous. Roll the windows up and go for a long drive.....
