Slightly long story, so bear with me. I would really appreciate the help.
So a couple days ago my Viper alarm randomly stopped working. I did not do the install on the angel eyes or the alarm. Was the previous owner. I'm not that skilled. ha
I took the underside of the dash off (under the steering wheel) and played with the alarm wires a little. Pushing them back into the "brain" and little stuff like that. I found a stiff (copper?) wire wrapped in red that led into the fuse box. But it was stripped of the plastic in the fuse box, but no plugged into anything. Thinking it might fix something, I stuck it into the slot where my angel eyes were hooked up to. All of a sudden my alarm starts working again!
Excited, I jumped into the car to find it smoking like crazy with the smell of burnt wires. Same goes for the fuse box in the engine bay from the angel eye and alarm wires that I put together. I immediately pulled them apart, and the alarm and angel eyes still worked...
But I could not find where it was burning the wires inside the car under the dash...BUT, everything worked as it should afterwords.
But tonight, (twice already) my lights have automatically turned themselves on after I arrived home!
The first time, it was the angel eyes and foglights only (wtf?)
The second time, it was the angel eyes, low beams, and foglights.
This was after I watched and made sure they went out.
Is there a wire or fuse, I should check? Especially under the dash? But I cannot see what wires are under there. Are there headlight wires there? But the angel eyes turned themselves on too...I cannot imagine for the life of me what is wrong. I can take pictures of all the wires and everything if need be. I'm desperate Right now, I have the battery disconnected just so I can sleep ok. ha
HELP!!!!
Thank you.
