i posted this in another area but i think it would be better served HERE..PLEASE HELP ..
I have a 1996 mazda protege lx automatic and the plastic that is on the shifter assembly (or whatever its called) came off the track and bent. You know the plastic near the park reverse drive stuff. I got lucky and found a replacment at the junk yard already off the car but now i cant figure out how to get the casing around it off to get in there and change it. I got as far and getting it off from around the stereo and cd holder thing but after that i cant get it. I dont want to pull to hard and break it or if it even comes off that way. it looks like i might have to take the whole center console out.
does anyone know? anyone else have to do this already??
