I need help with my Home A/V

I have a Sony DE-845 receiver for my surrond sound system. Never had a problem until my niece started pushing buttons on the receiver while I had gone to to check the mail. I asked her what she pressed and she shrugged her shoulders and walked away. She is only five years old though, so I can't say too much

Now when you turn it on it will play for a minute or so and then on the display it reads PROTECTED and there is no sound.

I can't find anything in the manual about it.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

some speaker wires are probably touching or a line input is sending to high of a signal, more likely the first though

Thanks. man. That's what it was. I had a splinter of a wire coming off the front/right channel hitting the connectore for the front/left.

Thanks alot

Any time, i actauly work for a commercial AV installer and integrator and at Tweeter on the weekends so I can generaly find out the answer to AV questions even if I don't know them.
