I Need Serious Help! My baby is dieing and i cant for the life of me figure it out! So recently I have moved to Oklahoma from Virginia, She took the drive VERY nicely, Now recently she has been acting up and giving me a horible time! The trouble started about 3 weeks ago, Im driving along side this little civic, and wanna show off My Baby! (2003 mazda protege 5) im driving and hit high RPM's in 2nd, then shift to 3rd, hit high RPM's again, (no higher than redline) and shift to 4th, then all of a sudden my battery turns off radio, radar detector, dash lights, everything electronic shuts off, battery light comes on. My tach Frezzes at 4500 RPM's. My speed drops, and just flat out stalls... WHAT THE HELL?!?!?! I have recently taken it to Firestone, Just to pay 85.99 for them to tell me they cant find a problem! PLEASE! ANY IDEAS'S? I need any help I can get? Where do I start looking? What could It Be???? Please help me safe my Car! :'(

Is it DOA or will it start and run for a while?

If it's just DOA, the battery could have fried. Sometimes that will take out the alternator too. If it was a short circuit in the wiring, it would have probably blown fuses, and you'd still be be DOA.

If it came back to life, it sounds like a loose electrical connection.

I would unplug the (-) lead on the battery for a few minutes, install back on and go drive it and see what happens...

^no. not for what he is describing.

Did the battery hit the strut brace (check the tie downs).

Put a meter across the battery. 12VDC? Keep looking (ECU?)

<12VDC? Replace.

Let us know!

Hey im gonna try all of these things tomrrow, ill keep you informed, i REALLY appriciate all your help please keep ideas coming, I cant Lose My Baby! lol

lol thats what happens when you street race :P
Sounds like a batttery or alternator problem, if it does start, check to make sure the alternator is charging correctly.
