OK people am still finding the right protege5 and i just found one from a the chrysler and jeep dealer in my home town. He gave me a good price for it which was $7500 out the door. the car is yellow with 80000miles on it. I test drove it and it seemed ok other then needing alighnment i believe. They said if i dont get it its going out to the auctions.

Sounds pretty good for retail, not much over bluebook. Make sure the wheels are aligned and balanced before you buy it if you can.

I wouldn't buy a car that doesn't go down the road and stop straight. 'Just needs an alignment.. we don't have time to do it... etc' is an old line.

Just make sure they (the dealer) does the alignment before you buy it. I had the same thing when I bought mine. I noticed that the car pulled slightly to the right, but not hard at all. Ofcoarse after I bought the car I couldn't find the time to get the alignment done. Two weeks later the two back tires where bald with the steel belt poking out. Then I brought it in and found out that there was something bent around the back tire. It only cost me $343 for the alignment, two tires, and the part that was bent, so it wasn't too bad, but could have been worse.

Definitely not a bad price for an 03...have them align it, make sure you drive it again first...also, yellow had a different paint clearcoat, so make sure the finish is good all over...for a one owner, it looks like a decent deal.

Tell em no sale w/o the alignment. Other than that, sounds like a good deal

Is that $7500 including tax, title & license than that's not too bad but I would fight for the alignment. If he is willing to let it go to the auction I doubt he'll more than $5000 fo it.
