I may be buying an automatic two-owner 2007 Mazda3 Grand Touring Sedan for my son. The car I found has approximately 116,000 miles and seems rather clean and has a respectable CarFax history report. While I am new to this forum, I do belong to other forums and I currently own a 2004 Mazdaspeed Miata. Specific to the 2007 Mazda3, are there any known problem areas or specific items I should be aware of with respect to this car? The car in question appears to be stock except for the stereo and an aftermarket exhaust system. A couple of the items I noticed tonight on a test drive was that the airbag light was illuminated, occasionally at idle, it seemed a bit rough, almost as if a motor mount was weak, and the brakes were a bit spongy. I'm a descent back-yard mechanic so I can tackle most repair or maintenance items.

Any input or advice you can provide with respect to this car would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys and gals too!

Airbag light? Had to be in a wreck... Clean title?

Thermostats go out usually around 100k. Rough idle... when you put it into gear does it still seam rough? My gf's 05 3 has a broken motor mount, either passegner or rear.
