I just bought a 2005 5door manual in black. I got it with 10 miles on it on Wednesday now it has over a thousand from a trip from LA to SF via the 101 and Hwy 1. The car handled beautifully, great road hold and acceleration. It was raining quite heavy throughout most of the drive and the ABS did not have to kick in at all. The passing was superb, smooth and easy down shifts lead to very thrilling passing at hwy speed. Before I purchased the 5door I test drove the Scion Tc and was quite disappointed. It felt amateurish by comparison. I am very happy with my choice and would make it again in a heart beat. If anyone out there is on the fence about buying a Mazda3 its time to get off and snatch one of these up.

Great bang for the buck!
I've had my '05 Mazda3 5dr for nearly three weeks now. While the adjustment to the car has been somewhat difficult, I am really beginning to enjoyment the simple driving enjoyment it offers. The adjustment was difficult because I traded my '04 RX-8 for the 3. Ugh! I intend to return to college after a 10 year hiatus, so I have begun to cut my expenses. While the RX-8 was great fun to drive it started to feel more like a liability than something to be enjoyed.
I'm glad to be part of the Mazda3 community. Now I have to figure out what to do with my RX-8Club.com polo shirt and stickers! (eek2)

Thank you for all of your welcomes. As I sit here in my office all I can think about is getting back on the road and opening her up. Alas, not only will I have to wait to leave the office, but also for the rain to stop. Maybe the weather will let up and there will be some great driving in store for me this weekend.
