i just got crazy good MPG on a short roadtrip.

from san francisco to lake tahoe...

AC on, going about 70-75 mph, no cruise control (too much traffic). i was always a sceptic hearing of great mpg, but i have seen it with my own eyes. i got 29 mpg going uphill (there) and 31 coming downhill back. i was stunned. i filled up right when i left, and filled it up as i rolled into town. i putz about town, and then topped it off right when i left, and filled up back in my hometown. great roadtrip car! hills and steep inclines? i didnt even feel them.

as a daily, i typically see 22 mpg. what i difference.

You know what's funny, my trip computer was saying I was getting some insane MPG #'s when I had an AP installed for 2 weeks. Saying I was getting like 38mpg on the e-way. Couldn't believe it.

Congrats though!

Your trip comp will be 1-2 mpg high, mine says 27ish avg. my manual calculations put me at 25 avg

another MPG thread...

meh, chip in. Best I have been able to achieve was a computer reading of 37mpg...for a whole tank mind you. Actual was about 34mpg. Was doing some hypermiling and staying out of boost...lots of coasting down hills. This was all in-town btw...which is probably why I could achieve it with lots of hills. Best I have gotten on the highway was about 33... not much you can do about highway MPG other than speed.
