I've been reading alot of post on this forum and i see alot of heat goin on between people about some very stupid things...i might be new to this forum...but i'm not a newbie to a car with a turbo or cars in general....i see alot of troubleshooting going on..when u go out and buy a car..especially one that is a limited run car with a turbo system..you have to know that theres gonna be some problems and just except it....when i bought this car i knew there would prolly be some stupid factory s*** going wrong...its just the way it is...but everyone on here is fighting about it...this is all part of owning any car pretty much..nothing is perfect......so i think we should all just have fun with them and deal with whatever comes up...like i do...you guys talk about all these problems..talkin about compressor surge and things like that..don't you think the engineers at mazda drove the car before they sold it and thought about this before ..i never heard anything that sounded like a turkey...alls i hear is air going in different places...blow off..whatever....some people just talk outta there ass...but whatever...have fun with yer turbofied rides i know i will...

Good post, and welcome to the boards!

FYI - the compressor surge is not bad at stock boost, and most likely won't cause any problems in the long run. But raise the boost, and you might have problems down the road. Of course, nobody knows yet, because the cars are still new...but better safe than sorry.

Plus I want a 'whoosh' BOV sound.

welcome----s*** goes wrong, that's why we have warranties. I spent 3 years and over15k building a mustang that still had problems. That's why I bought an MSP-fun, and warrantied. And the engineers at mazda don't know s*** or this car would have 45 lbs of boost!! j/k I hear ya though about the arguments on here.
