Ok first off I have been wanting to get a tuner for my car ever since I bought it. Im pretty dead set on SSAFC due to the awesome reviews I have read so far. Ok so now that I am a believer in this SSAFC, I want one! But a couple of things that have not been stated clearly and small questions of stuff I have yet to search for. By the way I have said Im a little tired of searching this dang forum? Haha. I love this place and read wayyyy more than I post, but its not the easiest to search on. Anyway here it goes. First off I will tell you my mods and mods on the way. I am running 3in FMIC, relocated MAF, SRI, and Greddy RS VTA BOV. Things that are on the way but may not be here by the time I get SSAFC, Pope 3in DP, Pope Mani, and Corksport 80mm full exhaust. (By the way, should I get a cat or no?)
Now for the SSAFC Questions:
1. What hardware do I need with the SSAFC, beside wideband?
2. What all does the SSAFC exactly data log?
3. Does the computer have to be hooked up all the time for the SSAFC to work? Or can you download your tune to it and leave it?
4. Do I still need a boost controller, or can SSAFC do that for me?
5. Can I get the information on what to enter into R4 software when hooking up my SSAFC?
Now for other questions:
6. What should AFR's be at for these cars safely?
7. What other mods besides 440 injectors can I do with the SSAFC?
8. Any really important stuff I need to know while all this is happening?
Any other advice I may not have asked for is always welcome to be posted. You guys have been such a great help here to me. I try my best to not ask so many questions, but im trying not to fry my brain. Need to save some for reading up on how to tune write ups. (Still reading about before tuning car) Also is 400 the best price on a SSAFC with data logging? I know I missed out on the GB not too long ago. I do plan on going bigger with this car, but I want to start with the SSAFC and basic bolt on mods to learn more about car and tuning before moving up to big turbo and built motor. Which if this next job works out for me I will be buying all the stuff needed for that build. I want to learn this stuff myself, just need some basics to get a jump start with. PS. Blame my friend with the MS3 for this. I have been helping him mod his car and I have the itch really bad now. He has someone email tuning his car. Lucky him. But other than that I have been helping him and trying to learn all I can. Since this is my first time actually tuning a car, and first time tuning a boosted car.
