I got my new ms3

I ran mine for two plus years with no issues.

So you deliberately ran a Cobb map that states clearly you risk damage without upgraded pump internals? I mean, I'm glad you didn't zzb, but why risk it over a 3-400 dollar part that's a half hour job to install? Just out of curiosity what kind of fuel pressure were you getting WOT with the stage II map?

You are clearly asshurt and that was not my intention. I apologize but make no mistake... power is one thing..... having the car RUN tip-top is a different beast.

To each their own.

As far as the internals, it's a crap shoot.... better to be safe than sorry. I didn't run a set either until I put a DP and aftermarket TMIC on. And did fine.

Also just trying to "save" a local is all.

I'm running well beyond 300/300 with no issues, 86k, and having owned BOTH... I'm glad I dumped the Hypertech. In fact, my MS3 is probably the most reliable cars I've ever owned. And I'm on the precipice of 400whp. There are SO many things the Hyperfail cannot do. It's literally not even worth arguing over.

Pzr2874: AP fanboys will be fanboys. Looks like you got a good custom tune from Cobb. How much over the cost of Hypertech did you pay for both the AP AND the custom tuning? And how much improvement did all that extra cash yield? And that's assuming Cobb's dyno was not having a "happy day".

In reality it is the intake, downpipe, and the reliable fuel pressure from upgraded internals that are making most of the gains. The tune tweaks them to keep things safe for stage 2 components.

Butthurt? Hardly. I'd be ashamed to have spent so much to essentially equal the tune of someone with almost identical mods and a simple, safe HT flash.

Domino has the right idea to go AP in his quest for 400/400, but the wrong idea for 95% of the users who will never go "big turbo" or run on any fuel mixture than pump premium.

For us, the proof is in the numbers. There they are. I can do the math, and have. I'm not impressed. Truth is that about 315 whp is about all you'll ever see with any tune and combo of mods on the stock K04 on pump gas in our cars. That's the wall.

What was the price premium paid over HT to produce that dyno run? And what gain, if any did it produce compare to my POS crap flash?

There was not a disclaimer 5 years ago to run fuel pump internals FYI. that was over 3 years ago for me so I do not remember.
