I get to testdrive a bunch of cars!!!

okay so those are the positives...now post ur negatives on this board...lol

the passat you drove...had dsg right?? how that hold up...supposed to be fast shifting auto tranny on most cars to date....

plus 1/4mile times with 6-speed tranny and DSG....the Auto DSG has faster 1/4mile time.

I got an Aveo sedan up to 105 mph...handled well through lane changes and straight as an arrow.
Cabin noise was loud as hell though haha.

Oh it's a really smaller paper. It's the News and Advance in Lynchburg VA.

It's a media general company. They also Run the Richmond times dispatch and the Roanoke times.

It's a fun job. I like it.
finaly someone besides myself from lynchburg. how long have you been on the forums?

well, think of it this way; it's officaly one of the few cars in the world a 1.8L ATX slush box(such as mine..) can take anytime, anywhere. (evil)

carefull now!! you might just hit 88mph in that thing and that would surely spell doom for the rest of us!!!

back when my 323 was stock it had 82 HP and I could top out 120mph with it easy. I know that's not too fast but it's fast enough for me.

what all have you done to your P5?

Its bone stock. Most of our funds go to mortgage payments, wifes student loans, bills and savings. I figure the P5 was slow when I bought it and will probably be slow when I sell it. But its fun to drive and looks great. I'll buy a faster car next time.

i hear ya, if you ever need anything for it, let me know, right now i stll have wrecked p5 in my back yard.. haha

Thanks a million. Actually I do have a question. Would you happen to have the piece that indicates what gear you're i? The plastic piece next to the shifter that has PNDR12 on it. That piece is broken in my wifes car. How much would you want for it?

sorry, the wrecked P5 is a manual. If you like to wrench on cars let me know, cuz i need some help/motivation to get the hubs and spindle assemblies off the wrecked P5 so i can put them on my LX.
So how long have you been in lynchburg?

Not very mechanically inclined. Usually cause more problems than I fix. Been in the burg about 6 years now. I like the place.

Glad to see the press living up to such high standards.

1. I'm not a reporter. I'm an Ad designer. Our boss just asked a few of us if we'd like to get some overtime and take some testdrives. She asked me since she knows I'm a car fan.

2. It's like a paid advertisement you see in a magazine. You are very well aware that its an Ad because there are Ad's for the dealer right next to the review. Its not an independent non-partisan review which I've made quite clear in this thread

3. I made this thread to share with fellow forum members just something a little fun I got to do on a weekend. You're free to have your opinion but I'm gunna call you out if you're just trying to be a jack.....well you know.

4. I didn't write anything about these cars that I don't conisder to be true fir the average car buyer

5. Please go back to bashing the President or whatever else it is you enjoy doing in your spare time.

Once again:

The purpose of this thread was to just share something fun I got to do on a weekend.

The car dealers purchased ads in the paper and we got to drive some of their vehicles and give a description of our test drives. The cars were not given any attributes they didn't have, the chevy aveo was not said to corner on rails but to be good cheap transportation. The Tiburon was not said to be a 350Z killer but a fun FWD coupe.

But then again I posted this thread for the benefit of my fellow forum members and just to share this fun experience ( 8 test drives in 1 day) not to argue with you so unless you have any other unfounded insults to hurl at my place of employment or myself, I think we're done here.

And really, if you can't take a little snide comment now and then, then you need to lighten up a bit. In my experience I've found that people who have real reasons to believe and think what they do are less upset when others question those beliefs.

You're not making me question my beliefs and I couldn't be bothered with our comments that are clearly an attempt to stir up some argument that doesn't exist, I sincerely just find you annoying. I don't hate you, you just rub me the wrong way.

One Final Note: The articles I wrote were printed in one time (for now) supplement to the newspaper which was given out to the public at no charge. Thry didn't have to pay a cent. And I had fun doing it.
