I Replaced the "clown horn"

While i was at it, i removed the fascade for the fog lights that I couldn't afford :-P... Now its open to the engine compartment, looks more agressive.

Here's how i did it.

All in all, it took about 1.5 hours. The dealer quoted me 1.5 hours at 90 bucks an hour ($135), plus 80 bucks for amazda 6 horn.

Their quote: 215 plus tax.
My total cost: 23 dollars. tax in.

That link is NOT working for me, can you give more detail and post a pic? You removed the whole fog light, or just the black thing around them? And where'd you get a replacement horn if not at the dealer? I'm intrigued...

Try that. Copy and paste if it doesn't work.

There is a removable fascade, one bolt and 3 clips holding it onto the bumper.

The silver border is removable purely by plastic clips. (just push in the "nubs" and pull, you'll see what i mean if you check it out)

Then i used a utility knife to cut along the black fascade.

As for the Horn, I patched in a bit of cable, and ran it to an Additonal Horn. The horn came with the mounting equipment. Alot of it is on the forth page of my carsite. Let me know if you have any more questions :-)

Ya it worked... thats a lot of work for the horn but good job... only "potential" problem I see with the 15 amp fuse vs the 10 amp is you overheat the wires but I seriously doubt it...what gauge wires run to the horn? another way to have run the wire is in series but that prob would have lowered volume on second horn.. not sure if it would have worked either...

The whole thing took less than 2 or 3 hours. Basically about... 20screws/fasteners (rough estimate)

As for the horn... I think it was 16 gauge. Very lightweight stuff. And as for the wires heating up... Unless you were leaning on the horn for an extended period of time.

As well, After i blew the first fuse, i checked for shorts, it COULD have been that as well, so I rewired it a bit, and put the 15 amp fuse.

Trust me... the horn is PLENTY loud. I ran it paralell, not series.
