I dont know if this has been asked or not ???

My P5 has 4500KM on it now...Ready for my oil change soon...And I was thinking of going with Mobile 1 Synthetic........
So i just want to know can I change oil like that or do I have to reach a certain KM to use Synthetic oils ?? And how is Mobile 1 ??

i'm not sure about the mileage for using that...but you might want to check with your dealer...a lot of times using a synthetic will void your warranty because this can cause problems in your engine...just a warning you will probably want to look into...

I swapped to synthetic with a fresh mazda oem filter at 2500 miles, and at 5500 it still looks brand new. I don't think it would void the warranty... It actually quieted the motor down at idle a little too. I don't know, I've used mobil synthetic for about 8 years, and never had any problems related to it.

Regarding your post about whether to use synthetic oil or not: Synthetic is bar none the better oil compared to your standard pertroleum product as it has a lower viscosity (less resistance to motion) I.E. Very slight increase in gas milage. Also the best thing about this type of lubricant is that when the engine is turned off a thicker film remains on the moving parts so when its started up again there is less wear until the oil begins circulating. So to answer your question, yes synthetic is better and no it won't void your warranty. One thing I do recommend is that you wait till you have at least 2500k miles on the vehicle before you switch. You want to make sure you allow for total breakin before as this oil works very well.

also, do your homework on what oil to choose. as of now, mobil1 synthetic is no longer a full synthetic i believe. it is a mixture of some sort. i posted links on this before...do a search. dont pay the 4-5 per quart if you're not getting what you think you're getting.
