What size hydoshield should i get for my MS3's AEM CAI? I just don't want the rain and or any other water like substance to hurt my intake.

i did not know they made different sizes...Are you talking about the filter cover or prefilter?

do you have an image or link to what you are thinking of?

ahhh I see. Do you have the original filter for the AEM

I am not sure of the filter measurements on that particular filter. You should be able to get at without having to take the car apart so you can measure.

get the following dimensions:

Base: The circumference at the bottom.

Top: The circumference at the top.

Tall: The height from base to top.

For anybody thinking this is too dumb a question, the AEM has a huge filter, about 18" long, nothing like the dinky little jobbie on the Injen.

youre kidding right lol

OK, maybe 18" is an exaggeration, I am thinking CM first, then converting,(canada) anyway, since I have it out, it's about 10.5" flange to tip. The filter for an Injen, which, oddly enough I have around, too (see marketplace) is about 6-3/4, flage to tip so, my point holds that a hydroshield for an Injen sized filter won't cure the AEM one.

My version of hydroshield was zap-strapping a few square inches of 22 gauge stainless behind the vent slots in the fender liner. ALOT of water splashes up in this area and I wanted to be sure it was deflected down and out of the CAI filter area.

The filter is very large, about 9 inches long and 6 inches in diameter at the base, 2.75 inch flange bore. To be specific, here is AEM's spec sheet on the filter used on the MSCAI and AEM CAI on our cars. Also a pix of the filter as installed on the CAI.

You could always buy any filter that is made for a 2.75" pipe and then buy a prefilter for that?

I thought that the MSCAI used a different size filter.

All of the MS CAIs that I know of use a filter element that is about 6" from base of filter to top, not including the connector part.
If that's what you have, I sell the ORIGINAL Outerwears filter cover for $22.00 shipped.
Sorry, I'm whoring up your thread :)
